JAMES YARKER is Director of Stan’s Cafe Theatre Company, established in 1991 and based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. The company’s contemporary and often experimental productions tour the UK and internationally.
Andrew McMillan
ANDREW McMILLAN's debut collection physical was the first ever poetry collection to win The Guardian First Book Award.
This collection also won the Somerset Maugham Award and a Northern Writer's Award.
Jim Crace
Jim Crace is an award winning writer and novelist. His novel Quarantine was the winner of the Whitbread Novel of 1997; in 2013 his novel Harvest was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize and then won the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award for 2015. Jim's latest work is The Melody: published in February this year it is described as 'an ecological fable for modern times' and has received outstanding reviews.
Words hosts five main events every year between February to November.

- Usually a talk lasting 40 minutes, followed by wine or coffee. Question and answer session, book signing.
