Margaret Cooper

Margaret, together with Kate Shaw and Jennie McGregor Smith, was a founder of WORDS in 1978.

She, and her late husband Michael, ran " Bromsgrove Books " in the Town and WORDS was set up " to bring the best of the Spoken and Written Word to Bromsgrove ".

Her links to the literary world proved invaluable in persuading a range of speakers - authors, broadcasters, journalists, poets - to visit WORDS and, rather poignantly, her death was on the day ( May 11th ) of the very successful talk on " Reflections on Leadership " from the political journalist Steve Richards.

So her legacy lives on.

She leaves a son, Ben, daughter in law Susannah, and two grandchildren

Her funeral is at 11.00.a.m on Monday, June 27th at Redditch Crematorium.
