As its next Speaker, WORDS is delighted to welcome John Benjamin, the lecturer, valuer, writer and jewellery historian, who is well known to many for his regular appearances on " The Antiques Road Show "

His presentation will look at 450 years of Jewellery Design, from the era of opulent Renaissance Enamels and Pearls, progressing through the so-called " Age of the Faceted Stone ", 19th Century Revivalism, Late Victorian Mass Production, Platinum, Cartier, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Post War Modernism, and the impact of Man-Made Diamonds today.

John's visit to WORDS is at 11.00.a.m. on Thursday, July 4th, in the New Guesten Hall, Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings, Stoke Heath, Bromsgrove, B60 4JR.

After the talk, lunch will be available ( to be preordered on the day ) in the tearoom at Avoncroft, which has a new menu, including jacket potatoes, quiches, soup, sandwiches and hot savoury rolls - all with a salad garnish - and you are welcome to stroll round the grounds, although the buildings will not be open.
